Do You Have Coins To Sell?
If you answered "yes" to this question, you also should address
another one before you sell:
Does the coin dealer that I am considering have a well-established retail operation,
or does the dealer rely heavily on a wholesale market to sell to other dealers at weekend coin shows in order to
liqidate stock?
There is a very big difference between the two types of dealers and a substantial
difference in the price you'll receive for your coins. So, if you're thinking about selling, do your homework first in
order to get the best value.
Here at Fallcreek Coins and Collectables, we recommend that you first have your coins
valued by a local dealer. Compare that appraisal with what another dealer can offer before you sell.
Reputable coin dealers will be happy to appraise your collection, large or small. (For larger collections, we recommend
that you consult the current edition of the Official Blackbook Price Guide to United States Coins, or check
www.numismedia.com/fmv/fmv.shtml for the latest information from a national network of the coin dealers
and collectors.)
Comparison shopping will help you receive the fairest prices for your
coins.
